Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood, she could release a number of songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew in her teen years. Following a focus on education, she earned a degree in journalism in college and a women's studies degree. Her focus shifted to music once she finished her studies. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained viral hits, such as body-positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was an additional project. A musician and author was as her credentials, she began looking for an actor for a third venture. Apart from the early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
