Antonia Lofaso
The culinary offerings of Chef Antonia invites customers to dive into the depths. Curiosity grew in her after she moved from her home in the Long Island suburbs to explore the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles. Carnitas and Cavatellis within the same menu is her ideology. All of her dishes are inspired by a distinct perspective for the future but also with a nostalgic look at the previous. Inspired by her Italian-American heritage Lofaso established Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian has been called one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurant chains. Patrons have described Scopa as an essential neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always offers food that is genuine and incredibly satisfying. Lofaso worked under culinary greats to learn their refined methods. But she didn't hesitate to make extraordinary decisions in order to follow her intuition. In a short time, Lofaso rose to the highest level of Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In the following years, she worked alongside many celebrities, while transforming various Los Angeles restaurants. Lofaso worked together with Sal Aurora to create Black Market Liquor Bar which was a new bar situated in Studio City. The Lofaso had found a home at Black Market. Lofaso's creative freedom would be fostered through this collaboration. Black Market doesn't have one particular direction. This is the intention. It could start with potato chips dill as well as shishito chillies, then go on to a Korean wings dish and meatballs. Antonia is the anchor for this bold array of flavours. Through her entire career, Lofaso has measured her success through her ability to connect with her viewers but still remain authentic to her personality. Her memorable performance in Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars celebrated her uniqueness outside of the kitchen and her talents are still shining in front of the camera, as a Judge on the CNBC's Restaurant Startup as well as in recurring roles on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child and ABC's Real O'neals. In 2012 Lofaso joined with Penguin to publish"The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Quick Delicious home-cooked Meals, which also recounts her struggles while studying at the elite French Culinary Institute, and while raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso says that the inspiration for her achievements comes from the kitchen. This is how she maintains a constant pulse on the current happenings. With her Chefletics brand, she is altering the appearance of her industry by re-designing clothing for chefs that is stylish and also serves a function. Lofaso will adhere to the goals of her customers. The brand she has developed is Antonia Lofaso Catering to help achieve that.
