Catherine Ford is a British actress born in Bloomsbury. When her father's departure from her family, she was grew up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. As a young child, Ford battled anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder caused by the word association. Ford was intrigued by the field of acting during her teens and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. The school she was accepted to was Sylvia Young Theatre School. After a couple of days, she concluded that the school was not suitable for her. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama, finally winning the position on her 4th attempt. Her classmate was Shaun Dingwall, who would later have a recurring role as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford's debut on TV was the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate began her TV debut in 1991and appeared on shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. as well as London's Burning. Tate's regular involvement in the theatre brought her into The Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 Season. Tate was recognized for her comedy stand-up and became part of her resume in 1996.
